Fair use
You pay for the people who report, not for how much they report. Two rules keep that fair, and when either one trips, reporting pauses: your board stays readable, nothing is lost, and the pause lifts by itself.
A seat is one person
A reporting seat is one person whose sessions report. Every agent, subagent, worktree and parallel session that person runs on their own machines reports on that seat and costs nothing extra: running several agents at once is what TeamFlow is for, and nothing counts sessions.
CI and your tracker connections need no seat. Viewers read the board and do not report.
A credential is for one machine
/teamflow:login gives the machine you run it on a credential of its own. It is for that machine. Signing in on a second machine is one command and takes a minute, and it gives that machine its own credential on the same seat — so there is never a reason to copy one from somewhere else.
A devcontainer or a remote shell that shares your home directory counts as the same machine.
Usage far beyond a normal team
Reporting is not billed by volume and heavy agent use is expected. We do count reports, but only to tell ordinary heavy use from something else. Usage far beyond what any normal team produces is a conversation about an Enterprise plan, not a bill.
When a rule trips
Reporting pauses. That is the whole of it:
- The board stays readable. Everybody can still sign in and see it.
- Nothing is deleted. Your organisation, projects and history stay.
- The rest of your organisation is unaffected by a machine's pause.
- It lifts by itself when its cause stops. At the end of the next turn after that, the plugin sends your current state again and the board catches up without anybody doing anything.
teamflow status and teamflow doctor say which pause you have met, and it is shown once when a session starts.
"This credential is already in use"
The credential on this machine is already reporting from another one. The machine that was reporting first carries on, and this one pauses.
Fix: run /teamflow:login on this machine to give it its own credential. If you moved to a new laptop and stopped using the old one, you do not need to do anything: once the old machine goes quiet, the new one takes over.
"Usage on the credential exceeds the plan"
Your organisation's reporting is far beyond what a normal team produces this month, so reporting is paused until the month ends or a seat is added.
Fix: contact us to discuss an Enterprise plan. We can lift the pause while we talk, so your board does not stay quiet while terms are agreed. Adding a reporting seat also lifts it straight away.
What we will not do
We will not terminate or delete an account for fair-use reasons. Instead the account is suspended automatically: reporting pauses, the board stays readable, nothing is deleted, and it lifts when the cause stops. The terms of service include these guidelines.
